  • Created, wrote, and hosted a 12-episode weekly video program for Nerdist's online Alpha subscription channel. Actor and media personality Tiffany Smith was the co-host.

  • Have edited hundreds of comics and graphic novels for new and established creators.

  • Have spoken about comics for a wide variety of organizations, including the New York Public Library, Dreamworks, San Diego Comic-Con, Wonder-Con, and the French Consulate in Los Angeles.

Editor and Publisher - New Suit – A Unique Comics Company - September 2000 to present

  • Operate a small independent comic book company that publishes original comics and anthologies by both American and international creators.

  • Published the New Thing anthology, which was featured in Print Magazine for its use of award-winning illustrators.  Working on the new volume for 2023.

  • Created a program of weekly classes to train students in all aspects of comic book creation.

  • Oversaw the expansion into a mini-school to include classes on writing and drawing, inking and coloring, making comics for the web, and a comics class for kids.

  • Taught the core classes on drawing comics and writing comics scripts.

  • Taught at an annual workshop for 50+ visiting Japanese art and manga students.

  • Managed the development and release of mystery and fiction graphic novels, a series of non-fiction comics anthologies, and periodical comics including Road to Perdition, A History of Violence, The Big Book of the ‘70s, and Hellblazer.

  • Assigned and line-edited scripts and artwork, proofread, managed timelines under tight deadlines and maintained on-time delivery of products.

  • Built strong relationships and coordinated the delivery of assets across departments that inspired confidence in my judgment regarding the quality of the material.

FREELANCE WRITING

I’ve written short stories for literary journals, stories for comic books, and articles on film, television, and comics for various magazines and websites.

MEDIA APPEARANCES

Have appeared as a guest or expert on ABC News Nightline, Storage Wars, Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura, the documentary The Independents, and “Comics, Media, D.I.Y. and the L.A. Effect,” on 89.3 KPCC, and more.
